In Isaiah 58, God appeals to His people to stand with the oppressed, to help the poor, and to feed the hungry. “Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities” (Isaiah 58:12 NLT).
You may not know that some Navigators are working to advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom among communities experiencing the consequences of injustice, oppression, and poverty.
Currently, Navigator staff involved in the I-58 Navs ministry are engaged with immigrant communities from Southeast Asia and Africa, among Native Americans, Asians, Latinos, and African Americans. Some are reaching out to youth through after-school programs, as well as providing job training and tutoring. Others operate businesses that employ former gang members and ex-offenders. Still others minister to the homeless.
So far, Navigators in 12 cities have joined I-58 Navs, making Jesus known, studying the Bible, and engaging in life-on-life discipleship.
