The Navs at the University of South Carolina took 22 students to inner city Jacksonville and partnered with a ministry called 2nd Mile in being Christ’s hands and feet to a forgotten neighborhood.
Our students had a full week of serving two local elementary schools, a community garden, and three after-school programs. We learned a lot about God’s heart for justice and reconciliation and came home tired but happy and thoughtful about how to implement what we learned.
