This Spring Break Rochester Navs (Minnesota) took 13 students to inner city Minneapolis/St. Paul for an “urban immersion” missions trip.
Over the five-day trip the students served with multiple urban-centered ministries by doing outreach, prayer-walks, construction and cleanup. Seeing God work through ministries such as Urban Ventures, M.A.D.D.A.D.S of Minneapolis, The Salvation Army-Harbor Light Center and Urban Homeworks was truly a testament of the Lord’s heart for renewal and healing of people and the city itself.
Students also got to spend time growing closer together by going to an All Sons & Daughters concert, visiting Minnehaha Falls and The Como Zoo! We all came back to Rochester very tired, but definitely Spirit filled. As this semester continues we are excited to apply what God taught us on our trip and see the changes on campuses and our lives.
Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ – Matthew 25: 37-40
