Why is reaching those who serve in our nation’s military with the Gospel and training them to live as followers of Christ so unique and so important?
Unique People: The military is known for producing courageous leaders with a strong sense of purpose. They are willing to lay down their lives for our country. They ask questions like, “What will happen if I die?”
Unique Opportunities: I’ve known military personnel who have been sent all over the world—often into places where everyday civilians cannot go. Navigator-trained troops bring the transforming power of the Gospel with them wherever they go.
Unique Challenges: Most military personnel endure separation from spouses and children. Some face frontline combat. And when returning, some face stresses such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. But we in Navs Military have seen them face those challenges with Jesus Christ.
I’m reminded of Isaiah’s words, “ ‘As for me, this is my covenant with them,’ says the LORD. ‘My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,’ says the LORD” (Isaiah 59:21).
Right now The Navigators military ministry has more active duty laborers than at any time in our history. God is working among this unique group, committed to go anywhere at any time! That’s why Military Ministry is uniquely important!
